KARO-NA! Don’t Worry

No one on this earth ever imagined staying indoors out of fear of something unknown. I am sure everyone is experiencing stress and anxiety at their respective levels. Time never stops and there is nothing called vacuum or void - which can stop life. Life here is a metaphor and not your or my life, as we are lesser mortals of this world. Different brains function differently depending upon their neural-mechanism and training over a period of time. Every brain reacts differently to feelings of excitement, fear, anxiety etc. Mango people like us are driven by our mundane activities; school, friends, shopping, movies, marks, exams, parents etc. and learn to deal with these ordinary aspects in every situation. Even during this lockdown, my day starts with rankling with my parents for waking me up early and then fighting with my brother for not giving me my TV time. Most of my friends have similar tales to share and our biggest moment of grief is that we cannot go out and eat the food we like and wear the clothes we love.

The thing which amazes me is how celebrities remain so happy, cheerful, and fresh while staying indoors. Videos of Madonna singing out of her bathroom, Kendall Jenner checking out her best dress, Roger Federer tweening on his house wall, distresses me to hell. How these powerful people, who were perpetually on move, are so happy locked inside, especially when it is costing them millions. Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok videos add to my misery, where even people not so suave are followed by millions. Chris Hemsworth, Hrithik Roshan, Maliaka Arora, Jennifer Lopez are enjoying cooking, fashion, and fitness. This is really unbelievable that these people are so happy 24/7, when all TV channels and electronic media are painting a grim story for human existence.

Is it really believable?

A deeper examination of this situation further shook me. Every hit, like, or follow for these celebrities means additional dollars. So to look happy is a game of money. People who, for years live with maddening crowds around them, treated like Gods, chased by paparazzis, spending time playing or shooting can be happy without their regular dose of dopamine? Who would believe that these famous and omni-present people go through stress and anxiety and they are under some kind of therapy. It is unbelievable that these high and mighty do not get stressed or uncertain about their lives. However, there are very few brave people like Serena Williams and Deepika Padukone who openly talk about stress and anxiety and their related sufferings. Dwayne Johnson, Priyanka Chopra, Tom Cruise, Shah Rukh Khan sitting at home without work and no timeline by when they will be back to office. People at that level are bound to be insecure and more stressful than ordinary people like us.

We at this age have our own anxieties to deal with. It may be about going to college, delay in the academic year, no tennis tournaments, arguments with parents, and fighting with siblings. Guys it is all worth it in these times, as this period of life will stay with us forever and we will have an experience to share with the coming generations. Please count your blessings and help others in every little way.
